Objectives for the session: 1. Provide an awareness and understanding of trust types as they relate to organizational effectiveness. 2. Provide an opportunity for participants to examine the trust types as they relate to their mutual efforts with their clients and with each other as colleagues. Research provides strong evidence that schools and organizations with a high degree of trust among educators/staff and staff to parent/client are far more likely to make and sustain the kinds of changes that help them reach their goals and outcomes – than those organizations where there is little or no trust among staff. This session will explore organizational trust via the Trust Types. As well, we will see how the trust types and attributes relate to social and organizational life, dispute resolution, mediation and collaborative decision-making. As time allows, we will make connections between trust, trust attributes, relationships, communication and conflict resolution. This session will describe both empirical and conceptual research related to trust types.
