Tina Diamond holds a Ph.D. in Education from George Mason University. She joined the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) in 2006 after gaining 9 years of experience in the field of education. She began her career as a special education teacher in Fairfax County, VA where she worked at the elementary level as both a teacher and a coordinator of special education services. Tina served as the Chairperson for the Local Screening Committee and also administered educational assessments for eligibility purposes. After working within the school system, Tina expanded her career in special education by working as a technical assistance provider for the OSEP-funded Elementary and Middle Schools Technical Assistance Center (EMSTAC), the Access Center, and the National Center for Technology Innovation (NCTI). During this time, she also conducted policy analysis, large-scale dissemination activities, and program evaluation on various OSEP-funded projects.


Prior to joining OSEP, she was the Learning Specialist at George Mason University. In this position, she provided academic support to college students with learning disabilities and AD/HD. While at George Mason University, she authored a chapter in Dunklee and Shoop's The Principal's Quick-Reference Guide to School Law: Reducing Liability, Litigation, and Other Potential Legal Tangles 2nd Edition (2006) titled, The Principal's Responsibilities in Providing Special Education Services. She holds a Postgraduate Professional License in Virginia and is endorsed in Specific Learning Disabilities (K-12), Intellectual Disabilities (K-12), and Physical Education. As an Education Program Specialist in OSEP, Tina has served as the project officer for several national technical assistance centers, as well as projects designed to improve technology and personnel preparation in special education.
