Professor La Rue teaches at the Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC. He teaches traditional law courses as well as courses in Alternative Dispute Resolution. Professor La Rue formed and supervises the Law School’s first ADR Clinic. Professor La Rue has over twenty-five years of experience as a labor and employment law attorney, as an arbitrator, and as a mediator. For the past twenty-five years, he has served as an arbitrator and a mediator in numerous labor and employment disputes, both in the public as well as the private sector. He has lectured and conducted training seminars in arbitration and mediation in numerous settings both in United States and abroad. Professor La Rue is a member of the Council of the Section of Dispute Resolution of the American Bar Association and is a past-president of the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution (now ACR). He also is a member of the National Academy of Arbitrators and is named as the permanent arbitrator in a number of collective bargaining agreements. In addition, Professor La Rue is a Fellow in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, N. A. Branch. He also is a Fellow in the College of Labor & Employment Lawyers. Professor. La Rue has been a member of the JAMS panel of arbitrators and mediators since 2003.
