My name is Briceida Nunez Martinez and this is my third year as a practicing school psychologist in the state of California. I am also a doctoral student studying special education at the University of Northern Colorado. My research interests include looking at practices that better support culturally and linguistically diverse students and families in special education. My experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse families and students began while working for a school site that fosters a dual immersion language program as well as has a high number of diverse learners. Through my experience, I have seen that there is a continued need to research best practices to support culturally and linguistically diverse families when it comes to the special education system and their overall understanding and collaboration.
